A representative from the Society looks at all planning applications in the area of benefit, apart from those for minor works, and any proposals which will alter the street scene or the essential character of the area, are scrutinized by the full Committee. The Society makes representations to the Council when the Committee agrees that is appropriate. 

     

If the application is very large, such as the Nelson Hospital redevelopment, the Society endeavours to obtain paper copies of the plans to display in the Coach House during the period of planning consultation so that as many people as possible can have access to information and make their views known to the Council.
