Below are planned events for the coming few months. These take place in the Coach House, 1A Melrose Road, unless noted otherwise.

Several events and activities are open to members only: a gardening group, a bridge club and bridge tuition, wine tasting and social gatherings.  Advance notice of events is published in the Society’s Newsletter. Click here to join the Society .

Bridge is played weekly in the Coach House, Melrose Road on Monday evenings. Table money is £2 per person including beverages. Start time 7-30pm.

Annual General Meeting - Wednesday, 24 April at 8pm at Merton Park Primary School.

Spring Plant SaleThis flagship event in the society’s calendar is on Saturday 11 May from 10.00am – 12.00pm at 5a Sheridan Road, Merton Park. There are many opportunities for you to contribute to and share in the event:
  • donating - the success of the sale is due in large measure to the generous donations of plants, cuttings and seedlings, vegetables and herbs as well as ornamentals When you are in your garden dividing perennials and sowing seeds, please remember the sale and do a few extra. Donations, clearly labelled, can be delivered to 5a Sheridan Road or 21 Poplar Road in the week before the sale 
  • cakes - we also welcome donations of cakes to sell on the cake stall
  • setting up – we need helpers on Friday 10 May from 2pm to sort, price and set out the merchandise at Sheridan Road 
  • selling – we need helpers on the day to sell produce 
  • buying – come along to the sale and stock your garden and patio pots from our great selection of annual bedding and vegetable plants, as well as shrubs and herbaceous plants, both bought in and donated 
  • enjoying - treat yourself to refreshments and delicious homemade cakes, whilst chatting to friends old and new 
  • clearing – we need helpers at the end of the sale to tidy up.

We have an offer to make compost bins from discarded pallets. They are 80cm X 80 X 80 and have removable slats. If you would like to pre-order one they are £25. Please let Ann know.

Music in the Park: 30th Anniversary Special - Sunday, 23 June, 3-5pm in John Innes Park.  Music by Putney & Wimbledon Brass Band.

Rutsfest: Sunday, 26 May at Old Ruts Sports Ground.
Merton Park Croquet Club Open Afternoon: Sunday, 2 June at John Innes Park from 1:30pm onwards.
BBC Antiques Road Show: Sunday, 2 June at Morden Hall Park.
St Mary's Church Summer Festival: Saturday, 29 June at 3pm to dusk in the Glebe Field. 

Coffee and social mornings are at 11am to 1pm and are held at the Coach House on Melrose Road.  They are held on the second Wednesday of each month.  

Gardening group meetings will be on the second Friday of the month. We meet at 9am by the mulberry tree in John Innes Park.

Bingo meetings have been discontinued.
